It’s a wonderful feeling finding pieces in my closet that I’ve had for years, especially when similar ones are in stores now. I don’t know how long I’ve had this beauty, but I knew when I bought it I would have it/wear it forever. Ruffles were riding high for spring 2016 and I’m ecstatic that they’ve made their way into fall. What I like about fall ’16 is that we are not adhering to the rules by only wearing what is appropriate for the season. Yes!!!! What a sigh of relief, since the weather in Atlanta can be warm all the way up to Thanksgiving. So even though fall is right around the corner, don’t put away your ruffles and please don’t put away your shoulder-baring tops.
We still have a lot of time to enjoy those fun, frilly, easy pieces. That’s the great thing about ruffles. They are so beautiful so easy, you don’t have to do much to look/feel amazing. I’ve worn this top with skinny jeans, I’ve done it with leather pants, pencil skirts and shorts. And each time, it felt like a whole new outfit. Today, I paired it with loose-fitting flare pants and have to admit, I thought it would be a bit overwhelming. Happy to say, the clean lines came through!!!
Today’s pick: black ruffled silk top (one-shoulder) with stone colored flare pants. Shirt: (old Banana Republic similar here and with more coverage here ); Pants: on sale BCBG; Shoes: Christian Louboutin (old similar here) Bag: Gucci; Bracelet: Banana Republic; Sunglasses: Isaac Mizrahi
Too tough! Even my 61 year old mother says you are too sharp! She is following your blog via me.
