Happy Monday everyone!! It’s mid-November and the weather is getting colder in Atlanta!!! Which means it’s finally time to pull out those sweaters, boots and HATS!! So…. I couldn’t be happier to sport this gray beret in today’s post in honor of the beret revival that’s hitting the fashion scene. From its military roots to the association with painters to it being a symbol of chic Parisian style, the beret is back and in full effect.
You must have seen it on the runways and now on the streets and while it can seem a bit “costumey” if not done right, it can easily be the ultimate head piece when it is. Not to mention what it can do for a bad hair day. I used the beret to add some detail to an all black and white ensemble, but berets also acclimate well with overcoats and either tailored or loose fitted pants, they work well with casual dresses and can do wonders for jeans and turtlenecks. And whether you wear it upright, tilted, with a little slouch or embellished with your favorite jewelry, if you keep it simple, you cannot and will not go wrong.
Today’s pick: black leather cropped overalls with a white pleated cuff shirt, a gray beret and stacked Mary Jane shoes. Overalls (BCBG sold out, similar here and here); Shirt (Banana Republic); Beret (Nordstrom); Shoes (Zara); Bag and Brooch: Chanel; Sunglasses (Banana Republic)
