Happy Tuesday everyone! I think I’ve mentioned my slight, okay, full-on obsession, with trench coats. I have them in every color and I love them because they are so versatile and so easy to wear. And when it comes to layering, I can’t think of a better piece of clothing than a trench coat. Pulled over an outfit, it just completes the look. With spring officially just around the corner, but feeling like it now, I am inspired to bring out springtime pieces and colors (i.e. blues and reds). I added beige to red and blue to send a signal that although I’m layering, I’m doing so in a soft, lightweight way. The temperatures are warming up and I want to dress accordingly. Even though trenches are coats, most are more than welcomed in the spring due to the varying degrees of their fabrics and textures. Think April showers.
It’s not raining here (thank goodness!), but I’m wearing this lightweight trench to serve as a moderator between the bold red and blue colors, adding an element of calm but not taking a back seat. You’ll agree when you see it from behind. So anytime you have contrasting colors and want to tie them together effortlessly, add a layer (trench or scarf) in a soft color/fabric and it will be an AWESOME look.
Today’s pick: frayed-hem denim, with blue flared-sleeve shirt and beige trench paired with gold statement belt, gold metallic block-heeled pumps and a red clutch.
