Nothing says summer-ready like red, white and blue. And with stripes factored into that mix, that’s just plain HOT!!! Today’s post is in celebration of summer, all the fun fashion and the excitement I get preparing for the season. Light, airy, feminine, bright, ruffle(y), romantic, comfortable are just a few adjectives I’d use to describe my style June – September/October. They don’t call it HOTlanta for nothing, you know? So when the weather heats up, I have a lot of fun looking for crisp, clean lines that allow my wardrobe to shine bright as well as pieces that can easily be restyled with pieces I already have. I could just as easily put on a pair of cutoffs with this shirt for a casual look or I could have thrown on a pencil skirt and make it fancy. But I kept it easy, breezy because I have the rest of the summer to restyle this look. Believe me, this isn’t the only time you’ll see this blouse.
What is currently being called a trend, but what I consider a staple, is the strapless blouse. Believe me when I tell you, it’s here to stay. So go ahead and invest in a few nice ones. You’ll wear them for years to come. And the good thing is there are many variations in the style–great picks for the most modest and great picks for the most daring. For those who know me know I’m a classic kinda gal so the strategically placed ruffles and full bodice coverage was perfect. The off-white flared cropped pants were subtle and allowed focus to remain on the blouse and the shoulders, of course. By now, you are very well aware of my obsession with shoulders!!! I added a red clutch, but didn’t want the clutch and shoes vying for attention, so I opted for a nude heel in patent.
Today’s look: light blue and white strapless ruffled top with white, cropped pants, a red clutch and nude patent pumps.
