Well, several weeks ago, I saw this lovely gingham print maxi skirt (and you know my
love for obsession with gingham). I really wasn’t sure where and how I’d wear it, but I just had to have it…because IT’S GINGHAM! I went from a classic white button down with an overstated cherry brooch (which would have been perfect), to a fitted black turtleneck and overstated belt (which would have also been perfect). But deep down, I knew I wanted to do something different. By the way, I’m really liking that about me in my older age. I am trying new things. *PAUSE FOR APPLAUSE*
Since I’ve always loved black, white and pink together, I initially thought a pink wrap body suit was the perfect match (and it would have been). Then I remembered that I wanted to do something different. Enter the oversized, rose-colored boucle sweater. Just what the style doctor ordered. It’s loose, it’s ill-fitted, it’s full of fuzz…and it’s perfect. I could have worn it tucked all the way in to give a bit more structure, but I decided I’d do a front tuck and let the rest of the long hem go with the flow.
I liked what I saw, but thought I could do a little more with the look. So I pulled the Moto out of the closet, only as an accessory for two reasons: 1. it’s still way too hot in Atlanta for that much layering and 2. I couldn’t get it over that sweater if I wanted to. I added the black diamond/pearl brooch to tie in the jacket and skirt. Then all I needed were shoes. And I had the perfect patent pair. See for yourself…I told you.
Today’s pick: black and white gingham print maxi skirt with a rose-colored oversized boucle sweater paired with patent leather slingback pumps and a black leather Moto jacket.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
