You’ll see a lot of this kind of look during these next couple of months. I really don’t know what to call it, except that it just feels so crisp and clean and I really want to feel crisp and clean when the temps are high. I guess I’m a minimalist when it comes to styling. I enjoy 1-3 colors and clean lines. Buuuuut I also see a lot of accessories that I like to add to my outfits, giving them a bigger impact. I like to think of my style as minimalism to the max. Minimal clothing, colors and structure, but maximizing the add ons.
This army green strapless vest with a black-and-white pinstripe linen (pencil) skirt makes me so happy. I love the cut of the vest (cinched waist and flared hem) and how it falls perfectly over the skirt to highlight my curves–they are there, trust me. I also love these colors together. When you lean more toward minimalism in design, it’s never a bad idea to give your outfit a pop of color. While one might think that army green would lend itself to cooler temps, this is not the case when you have lightweight materials such as linen and cotton. Keep in mind, you can wear any color during spring and summer. Just make sure the material/weight is conducive to the warm weather. You can wear this look anywhere from Sunday brunch to a wine tasting to a day out with that special someone.
Today’s pick: army green strapless vest with a black-and-white pinstripe linen pencil skirt with gladiator sandals and a white and black straw hat.
Top (Forever 21), skirt (Forever 21); gladiator shoes (old but similar here and here), straw hat (Nordstrom)
