I like to buy matching sets, but they have to be so good that I want to wear them a few times. AND they have to be so good that they can be worn separately. Matching sets are big for spring and this is one bandwagon I didn’t mind jumping on. Enter the striped, pleated-shoulder blazer with paper bag waist pant SUIT!!! Did you get that? It’s a lot, but it’s good.
This suit/set literally has all the fun details I love to wear: exaggerated sleeves, paper bag/tie-front waist and vertical stripes, not to mention the perfect shade of blue for spring and summer.
Because I didn’t want or need to do much of anything to accessorize–this suit speaks for itself–I kept this look minimal with jewelry. Not wearing a necklace keeps the focus on the décolletage and the classic cut of the suit. I decided to match the bold shoulders with a bold earring. For this particular look, I went with gold, but could have easily done silver, if I had a great pair of silver block heels. Yeah, need to get a pair of those ASAP.
This suit is perfect to get you through spring and summer. I plan to mix and match the pieces and get my fair share of usage out of them. Think 9 to 5 with a reasonable pump and white button down, or brunch (just as pictured above), or an evening out with a lace cami. I also plan to wear the jacket with a pair of white linen shorts and the pants with a white Tee and straw hat.
So I totally understand just why suits are hot this spring and summer and I’m so ready for them. If you have your eyes on a great set for the warmer weather, my advice is go ahead and suit yourself. You’ll be glad you did!!
Today’s picks: blue and white striped, cotton/linen blend blazer with matching paper bag waist trousers, a gold straw clutch with gold block heel pumps and statement earrings.
